Fishing Dorados close to Buenos Aires
one of the world’s most aggressive and acrobatic freshwater game fish
Our Bilingual guide will pick you up at your Hotel in Buenos Aires and will drive you to one of the two fishing locations we have available, only 90 minutes away from Buenos Aires downtown.
After fishing day is over, the same guide will drive you back to your hotel. The fishing day starts early in the morning around 8 am and will finishes around 6 pm.
During the expedition your guide will fish the most effective spots according to the actual conditions of the river at that time. There is no need to go back to the dock for lunch time, you can have a light lunch at the boat ashore.
The Parana River Delta
The Parana river flows from north to south washing the cost of Santa Fe Province and North of Buenos Aires to the west and Entre Rios Province to the East. Close to its mouth in Rio de la Plata it forms a vast Delta full of small rivers, islands and wetlands, most of them on Entre Rios Province side.
The Uruguay River
The Uruguay River flows north to south and is the natural limit between Argentina and Uruguay at Entre Rios Province height. Its mouth it’s also in Rio de la Plata, same as Parana River. The structures we can find are submerged trees, lagoons, small rivers and banks but with a slower water speed than Parana River.
We will be targeting Golden Dorado (Salminus Maxilosus) in the range of 2 to 8 pounds with chances to hook a 15-pounder trophy. Our fishing starts 30 minutes after leaving the dock in our 17-foot skiffs equipped with electric trolling motor remote controlled by our guide to approach fishing spots quietly. We will be fishing many different structures where this predator waits for its pray like, submerged trees, head of islands, banks, branches and exit of small rivers or lagoons.
We can also target another species on this location called Tararira (Hoplias Malabaricus) or Wolf Fish. Is a prehistoric look predator who attacks surface flies when they are active. Sight fishing can be done on shallow lagoons. Sizes are a little smaller than average dorado but they are also very acrobatic fighters.
